Free Mindfulness Practice Group in Ayr

The group meets every Tuesday night 6.30-7.30pm in lecture theatre 2, Ayr campus of the University of West Scotland (UWS). It will involve a 30 minute guided mindfulness practice and there will be time for reflection, discussion and questions after this. It will run every week, barring the odd holiday, and will be free of charge.

I am offering this group in conjunction with UWS to give people an introduction to mindfulness, support them in integrating it into their own lives and experience the benefits of it for themselves. It is suitable for beginners who know nothing about mindfulness through to more experienced individuals that feel it would be beneficial to practice in a group.

There is no expectation that you have to attend every week but you are more than welcome to if you want.

The practice will be done sitting in a chair so you don’t need to wear anything special.

Some people come straight from work so don't worry about that. Please do your best to arrive early as we go straight into the practise and it could be quite difficult for you if you arrive once that has started.

As we use the lecture theatre there is plenty of space and you can remain pretty anonymous if you want. There is no expectation that you have to talk. I have had feedback from people that the discussion can be very helpful so consider yourself encouraged to speak up if you do have something to say.

We usually get between 8 and 20 people.

UWS isn't the same as Ayr/Ayrshire college. Its in the same area but you access from UWS from Craigie way.
